Owensboro, KY – The Kentucky Association of Riverports (KAR) will host its 1st Annual Golf Scramble at The Summit Country Club in Owensboro, KY on Friday, June 16, 2006. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. All times Central Daylight Time.
KAR is offering this opportunity for those involved with Kentucky’s riverport terminals, inland waterways, and associate, supporting industries to come together for a day of fun, fellowship, and golf mixed with business opportunities. The day will bring individuals from a wide spectrum of business, government, and riverports from across the Commonwealth for social interaction and the exchange of ideas and information. Many of the public riverports’ Board of Directors and KAR Associate Members are already confirmed to be in attendance.
The Summit Country Club (www.summitky.com) is located eight miles east of Owensboro. The Don Charles designed layout provides players of all levels a challenging and diverse experience. With bentgrass greens, five lakes and multiple teeing areas, the course can play from 5,500 yards up to 6,835 yards. The Summit is a semi-private golf facility and requires soft spike golf shoes, collared shirts, and no private coolers.
Entry deadline is Friday, June 2nd and the best ball scramble is limited to the first 144 golfers.
